When done by a trained professional, neither extensions nor lifts should damage your natural lashes. Mascara is generally not recommended with eyelash extensions because it can weaken the bond of the adhesive and cause premature shedding. Extensions are designed to eliminate the need for mascara. After a lash lift, you can wear mascara, but avoid waterproof formulas, as they can be difficult to remove and may cause your lashes to weaken or straighten.
